Acriflavin by NT Labs is an antiseptic and antibacterial treatment for Koi. It should be used when fish show signs of bacterial infection and is useful as a quarantine solution. Acriflavin can be used to treat conditions such as: Fin, Tail & Mouth Rot and Ulcers. When treating open wounds and ulcers it can be used in conjunction with other, compatible remedies.
As with most aquatic treatments the manufacturer recommend that you: test your pond water before you commence, turn off your UV clarifier (if applicable) and refrain from medicating your pond in hot, humid weather (particularly when water temperature exceeds 30ºC). It is also recommended that you ensure your pond is well aerated during treatment. You can switch your UV back on once all of the colour has gone from the water.
Dosage: Add 10ml of Acriflavin per 364 litres (80 Imp. gallons) of pond water. If necessary you can repeat the dose every 7 days up to a maximum of 4 doses. If there is no improvement after the first application it is recommended that you check your diagnosis carefully. Please leave at least 7 days after the final Acriflavin application before you add any non-compatible treatments to your pond.
