Suitable for use with cold water and tropical aquariums, this Nitrate and Nitrite Pad by Aqua One measures 25.4cm (W) x 45.7cm (H) and can be cut to size to fit your filter.
Nitrates can cause a whole host of health problems for fish and affect the ability of their gills to absorb oxygen. The Nitrate and Nitrite Pad is tightly woven and contains Enzyme Bacteria and Zeolite which help to neutralise nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3), break down toxins and purify aquarium water.
The manufacturer recommend that this filter media is replaced every 4-6 weeks as once the microscopic pores in the pad fill up, they release the waste that they have collected back into the aquarium.
